Generative Artificial Intelligence: from technological milestone to complex turning point

Keywords: artificial intelligence, longitudinal phenomenon, legitimacy, complexity

Abstract

The human brain and its cognition are experiencing unprecedented competition from the scientific and technological developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its subgroup, Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI). This technological advance is based on simplification (and its basic elements: disjunction and reduction), which means that the effects or transformations that humans, their cultures, and societies would experience cannot be explained. Through complex thinking and strategic intelligence, it is possible to “monitor, explain, and warn” about the emergence of transhumanizing processes that could affect or endanger the survival or continuity of humans and species influenced by these advances in AI and GAI. This editorial explains the processes of disjunction and reduction at each stage in the development of AGI, reflecting on: the standardization in cognitive and thought development that humans would undergo when using AI models centralized in companies in powerful countries; and the role of users of this type of technology that most people, companies, political, military, economic, social, anthropological, and sociological systems would have.
